Keep learners sharp through afternoon study

A lunchtime meal won’t power a learner through a 4:00 PM extra class or sports match. SmartBite bridges the late-afternoon energy gap with zero-sugar hydration and brain-boosting low-GI snacks right when focus starts to dip. Designed for quick, between-activity refuelling, it costs the school nothing and requires zero staff admin. You provide 1 sqm and a plug point. We do the rest.

Your tuckshop, with backup

SmartBite is not here to compete with your existing vendors. A vending machine takes pressure off the tuckshop at peak break times, so learners spend less of their break in a queue.

It also stays available when the tuckshop is closed: afternoon sport, after-care, Saturday school and evening parent meetings. Learners can get a drink or a snack without leaving the school premises, and hydrated learners concentrate better in class.

Three steps. You do almost nothing.

Seriously. There is nothing for your office to manage.

  1. Site assessment

We walk the campus with your SMT and agree on the best position for the machine, somewhere it will relieve break-time congestion. The only requirements are a basic 1 sqm footprint and a standard electrical plug point.

  2. Zero-cost placement

We install and fully stock the machine at zero cost to the school. SmartBite carries 100% of the capital outlay, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to budget for.

  3. Flat monthly rental

SmartBite pays your school a flat monthly rental fee, directly into the school fundraising account, for the machine’s footprint. Restocking, maintenance, product selection and refunds are handled entirely by SmartBite.

Your part is tiny

Ours is everything else.

The school provides

  • 1 sqm of floor space
  • A standard electrical plug point

SmartBite provides

  • The machine, delivery and installation
  • All stock and inventory costs
  • Restocking and cleaning, outside teaching hours
  • Maintenance, customer service and refunds
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • A valid municipal Certificate of Acceptability (CoA) for stock handling and storage

In return, SmartBite pays the school a flat monthly rental fee for the machine’s footprint, directly into the school fundraising account.

What’s in it for your school

Shorter break-time queues
An automated vending point significantly reduces tuckshop lines, so learners spend more of their break resting and less of it waiting.
A new income stream
A flat monthly rental fee is paid into the school fundraising account for the physical footprint of the machine.
Control over what is sold
No standard junk food. The range is curated to align with your school’s health policies, focusing on zero-sugar beverages and low-GI snacks, and can be adjusted or restricted on SMT feedback.
Learners stay safely on campus
Refreshments are available during afternoon sport, late events, after-care, Saturday sessions and evening parent meetings, so nobody needs to leave the premises for a snack.
Learners have a say
At the end of each term, learners can propose snacks and beverages they would like added, so the range stays relevant to them.
No disruption to teaching
All restocking and machine cleaning happens strictly outside active teaching hours.

Try it for 90 days. Don’t love it? We’ll take it away.

There is no long-term commitment. We would rather earn your confidence with results.

Months 1–3
SmartBite covers all delivery and installation costs.
Day 90
At the end of the 90 days, your SMT reviews the revenue generated and the operational impact.
After the pilot
If the school is not entirely satisfied, SmartBite removes the machine at its own expense, no questions asked.
